Note: Sedentary behaviour is defined as any waking behaviour characterized by an energy expenditure ≤ 1.5 metabolic equivalents (METs), while in a sitting, reclining or lying posture.

The majority of Canadian youth in Grades 6 through 10 do not meet the sedentary screen time guidelines of 2 hours per day or less.
In Grade 6 only 16% of boys and 22% of girls met this guideline. In Grades 8 to 10 fewer than 10% of boys and girls met this guideline.
