4.6.7 Innovative Example – My Word: Storytelling a Digital Media Lab, a centre for northern digital storytelling

Digital stories relating to climate change were developed as a part of the “Changing Climate, Changing Health, Changing Stories” project, a community-driven, participatory, storytelling project led by the Rigolet Inuit Community Government in Nunatsiavut. This project utilized digital media to gather place-based narratives, documenting the impacts of climate change on human health and well-being and sharing adaptation strategies. The My Word Storytelling & Digital Media Lab operates and facilitates Digital Storytelling workshops. Individually, these stories represent poignant personal narratives and observations; collectively, they weave together a rich tapestry of experiences and wisdom that attempt to redefine the borders between science and stories, humans and landscapes. The stories are found at http://www.townofrigolet.com/home/stories.htm.
