In the combined years 2014 and 2015, 31.2% of all appendicitis hospitalizations among children and youth in Canada, 1 to 17 years of age, present with perforation.
Manitoba had the highest proportion of hospitalizations related to paediatric perforated appendicitis (41.8%) and New Brunswick and PEI had the lowest (18.8% and 23.1% respectively).
